Something that Ismail Marzuki, the maestro of Indonesian music, might have felt when he wrote the lyrics to one of his songs, ‘Selendang sutera, ‘tanda mata’ darimu. Telah kuterima sebulan yang lalu…’ (‘Silk shawl, a ‘memento’ from you. I received it a month ago…).
